Art Car Parade. Houston, Texas. May 9, 2009.

This is the actual car used in the Batman film starring Michael Keaton. The lady looking after the car said it is owned by a car museum and underneath the slick exterior it isn't much of a car to speak of! Of course that is me beside the car doing my best to Batman-up!

At a distance of a few feet the cars are very cool but when you move in and examine the detail on many of them they become truly astounding. What an evil, cute mirrored dog that sits atop this car. It id my understanding that this car won the best of show title.

The Art Car Parade in Houston, Texas takes place on Allen Parkway which meanders along the Buffalo Bayou with the lovely Eleanor Tinsley Park stretching between the road and the water. Great views of the skyline are visible from this popular park.

The Grand Marshall of the parade was Kinky Friedman; Writer, humorist, recent Texas gubernatorial candidate, and cigar amoking eccentric.

The world famous and ever popular evil Easter Bunny art car. A sure delight for kids everywhere imaging this mechanized rodent invading their home to leave colored eggs!

Perhaps you know how much I like bikes but it a bit of a secret that I also have a thing for purple dragons. This may be my soul mate.

A perfect parade in Houston, Texas. Sunny blue skies, an incredible skyline, and a very cool trainlike car with dozens of huge American flags!

A car covered in toilet paper rolls. Why do I think I will remember this car wistfully at some point in the Third World? I just hope I never see this car
